These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Rootwork (“Rootwork,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Rootwork is a project management, time tracking, invoicing, and AI-assisted scoping tool for freelancers. We offer a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Features and limits of each plan are described on our pricing page and may change from time to time; material changes will be communicated to active subscribers with reasonable notice.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate account information and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Rootwork to violate any law or infringe anyone’s rights.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to circumvent security or plan limits.
- Send content that is unlawful, harmful, or that you don’t have the right to send.
- Interfere with the service’s operation or other users’ use of it.
4. Payment and cancellation
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly (or annually, if you choose) in advance via Stripe. You may cancel any time from the Settings page or your Stripe billing portal; access continues through the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months unless required by law.
5. Your content and data
You retain all rights to the content and data you upload to Rootwork (project briefs, time entries, invoices, files). We store and process it only to provide the service. You may export your data at any time from within the app. If you close your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. AI features
Clear Scope and other AI-assisted features send the content you provide to third-party model providers (currently Anthropic). Do not paste content you are not authorized to share. AI outputs are suggestions only and may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing and using them appropriately.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time.
8. Disclaimers
Rootwork is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here and, for active subscribers, communicated by email at least 30 days before taking effect.
